I can write on this topic for hours and bore you all with the politics that prevent the CYC from being what it should be...

I agree it is a sad sight and it won't get any better. I don't like negativity but some walls are a bit too big to get over.

I'll keep it short.

The cost to get the pond to anything usable for sailing on is beyond what anyone is prepared to spend. If anyone out there has a brilliant entrepreneurial plan that will sustain the facilities too, please contact me.

If you can find enough bodies around here that are 1. either vaguely interested in, or 2. have the time to commit to sailing and peripheral activities... contact me.

If you are a marine biologist, botanist, zoologist or alage expert and think you can clear garden out of the pond... contact me.

All of the above are just some of the issues that are preventing the good old CYC from being that place we all remember so dearly.

It's tough, but it's the way things are going.

OTMCo will be taking the building back this year and using it for some other enterprising purpose. Just hope that they can make something of it... I don't know with whose money though?

All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!

Have you spoken to Philip, the fish guy from Stellenbosch running the fish farms on the mine...?

On another note.... I hear that the Yacht club is the place to be this Xmas in Omund... the club has been taken over by a group of locals  for 10 days of party party party... so if you are bored.. head on down to the club for a braai or a party.....

Alfie, that's a good idea. No need to open the club, it's open! C U daar. Slaan 'n paar tente op ens. Dan hoef niemand dronk te bestuur, kruip sommer tente toe.
