Stupid Perseid Meteor Shower!

So this evening , the girls and I grabbed our blankets and cushions climbed on the trampoline , lay down and started to scan the night skies for meteors..... they said 2nite would be the big one, I read up today online about this meteor shower, the biggest for the year..... after sitting in the cold for 30 minutes.... only spotting two shooting stars, 6 sats and a plane..... the cold started to bite.... we went back inside and climbed online to find out where the heck my meteors went to...... turns out, the Southern hemisphere ain;t the right place to be...... bloody northern hemisphere meteors....

mmmh! This gets better, I forgot that I mentioned to my brother Paul about this meteor shower, just got a phonecall from him, demanding to know where these meteors of mine had gone to......

From as far south as we are, probably won't see much. If one was deep in the dunes away from surrounding light sources and with a clear view to the north you might see a few smallies popping up from the northern horizon.

Northern hemisphere still the best for this specific event.

I recall similar meteor activity in the late 80's and thinking it a great idea to camp out on the roof of my folks house to watch it all... I awoke about 2 hours later, freezing my bits off because the soggy mist had roled in...
