Well not everywhere, I have been meaning to take some snaps... but there are a number of grass verges and lawns around the town that are no longer being watered or maintained......

I thought this was odd and then I did a bit of sniffing.... it appears, cash strapped OTMCO informed the J&P (the gardening contractors) to cut back on the number of lawns being maintained..... guess this explains the practice range...... But what on earth are these guys thinking....... the one thing that makes oMund unique amongst other dust ridden Namibian towns is the lush green lawns and trees we have..... The resale value of the town will decrease ..... The investment for landscaping over the last 60 years is an investment for the twon, NOT A LIABILITY!!!!!!!!! any moron can see that, surely?

Now, I also happened to see a letter from the Nam Gove, that reckons that the cabinet in principal approves the proclomation of Omund....... WHO ON EARTH ARE THESE PROCLOMATIONISTS KIDDING? You cannot even afford to keep the lawns watered, how on earth do you intend to keep the infrastructure of the town up and running without the help of NAMDEB....

MARK MY WORDS....... THIS TOWN WILL BE A BANKRUPT MUNICIPALITY within 30 months of being proclaimed.... and all those that made it happen will no longer be even living here......

This is my just my 2 cents worth......

please feel free to debate the topic from your point, men in black and the rest!!!!!!!!!!!

On the topic of proclamation etc... I got ear that yes the Gov are going to take over the process and do the necessary to run Omund, since OTMCo aren't making it happen as quick as they (Gov) want it done. Wonder if this stems from what was observed at the big knobs visit for Boundless Africa?

The circles in town aren't neglect... they are trampled to death by the unemployed loitering on the street corner in hope of jumping a job. Without appearing too obviously unemployed that is (to the eyes of the MIB) and fellow job hunters; you just can't be koool if you're look for job.

Dying gardens... take a walk down 1st Avenue and note that only every 3rd house is occupied. Feel like renaming this part of town Klein Kolmans.

Once again, brings us back to the topic, that I know people that would just love to come and rent a few of the empty houses, but there still appears to be no  movement or marketing for this from the people that like to spew out the red tape!

Sad......but great to see those pics. My eldest Mandy went to that school back in 1980. It had just started up then.

Mmm  why not  do as  we do here ...  we no longer  get weeding / spraying  of weeds done in front of pour properties as used ot happen years ago ..  so now we  just do it ourselves ...  so  every concerned citizen of O'mund   get the extra long hose and  do it  yourslf ..  put OTMCO  to shame ...

I Must have a guardian angel , was walking past a PAPOG ( Previously Advantaged Piece of Grass) and noticed that the yellow grass was now being watered, as I walked a bit more around the town, I could not help but notice, that there seemed to be a lot more water flowing than normal..... Good to see.......
