Xmas Lights and the great diamond depression of 2009!

Well, I guess it had to be expected, it's the 2nd of December and there ain't a Xmas light to be seen put up anywhere in this green town of ours...... To an extend it is understandable...... and I I would deem it appropriate to use the words uttered by the Great Paul Simon at the start of the Epic CONCERT in THE PARK performance..... "We wanted to have fireworks tonight, but they would'nt let us, so let's make our own fireworks!" ....... I have already noticed my neighbours across the street have strung up a few rope lights in their tree's ...... SPAR has also marked down their rope lights by 40% this year...... so all you Christmas nutters...... make your own fireworks.... this festive season.....

Sorry Mike and all you other street light fans; the cherry picker was out operation awaiting its new licence... then I took it away to Elizabeth Bay for the weekend.
OTMCo's boytjies are eagerly waiting for it so that the streets of Omund can once again be festively lit and help us forget about the depression for a while... prozac anyone?

In the old school!! the Xmas lights came down 12 days after Xmas ...........that's the 6th January the end of Xmas celebrations............................


The Twelve Days of Christmas is probably the most misunderstood part of the church year among Christians who are not part of liturgical church traditions. Contrary to much popular belief, these are not the twelve days before Christmas, but in most of the Western Church are the twelve days from Christmas until the beginning of Epiphany  (January 6th; the 12 days count from December 25th until January 5th). In some traditions, the first day of Christmas begins on the evening of December 25th with the following day considered the First Day of Christmas (December 26th). In these traditions, the twelve days begin December 26 and include Epiphany on January 6.

The big stores have tried it on for the last few years in our winter!!........... by saying Xmas in July, not so bad here we don't get snow woo hoo !!
