Remember the crowd that the Yacht Club would pull down there for an anything that floats race? I think the last one was about four or five years ago!...... :'(

Hi Mike,

Where were these photographs taken - at the river or pink pan?
Can you still walk on water?  ;D I remember the pink pan being very salty - some thing like the Dead Sea in Israel.

arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'..holy sh*t ..what a ride!

The race used to start at the old Log Cabin and was to the lagoon near the river mouth.

The one drawing office entry I remembered was called No. 1 Sealed Horizontal Inline Tubes
No guesses what type of pipes were used.

Richard, that was the pink pan before some person deceided the salt water needed freshening.
They pumped water from the river, destroyed the balance and created masses of green slime, its never been Pink Since.
There was a time when the whole bottom of the pan had a salt crust, that was dredged to create a deeper pan and made the hills around the pan.
It didnt however destroy the balance and the pan was just as salty but just no longer Pink

I think that the pan has bee n drained about 7 times in the last 17 years, but everytime they fill it up,t the green algae returns,........

All the have to do is fill the pan with enough salt to kill the weed.................

Andrew Darné

Been trying that how many times now. Can't get a reliable supply of sea water. Anyone out there have a good contact at Cerebos? We could take care of their waste salt...
All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!

As I remember, it was some or other Engineer who thought he was a clever dick who put the fresh water in the pan and has since left Ormd and left us lot with the bugger up to try sort out.  Years back when my mom and dad did sailing at the pink pan we used to have the flamingo's there, now we are lucky if we see any.
