The water is rising, here are a few more taken a few short hours ago from Jacques Kemp:

@ Pic 40 above, notice how the water has risen in the last 24 hours.... if you go back on this posting , you will see the same shot of the jetty at the green spot taken yesterday....

Above 34 is the Off road club / Log Cabin... that water ain't usually there....

Here is a google earth image of the orange river wetlands at the mouth, it is an older image, but you can see the water channels with the dark areas the floodplains, which are currently all under water......

Well, I thought it was interesting....

The pumps at Aussenkher upstream have been washed away, forcing 10 000 people to draw water directly from the river... here is the link:

Went down to the big waters this Friday Morn, the water has increased since yesterday evening.... here are a few random shots from this morning's tour!!!

That blerrie bird is big...... I never saw it in the mist, when those things stand up on their legs, they are almost 1.8m tall.... good thing I came armed with a dog.....
