Dont  we  just  all  remember  our  school  teachers  so  well  ,  and  now  when we  look  back  we  know  that  they  had  best intent   for us youngsters   and  must  have  at times  had  the patience  of  Job  in  dealing  with  us and  trying  to  pass  on  knowledge to  us ..   To  Auntie  Noreen  .. a very happy  birthday   ..  80  is indeed a milestone ..

Next to Mrs Coffins class was the guidance class and on the other side was the Afrikaans teacher, Mrs Williams, or Juffie.... she had that knack of pinching your shoulder in such a manner it would put karate kid to shame......

The one thing that always stuck in my mind that she told us, was if you burn yourself put toothpaste on the burn asap....

and the creaking noise you heard in your cdm house roof at night was only the roof contracting with the cold after being exposed the whole day to the desert sun.....

Wishing you a very happy birthday Miss Coffin.  You were my teacher in standard 3 (back in 1977 ...  ... ) and told my parents that I should consider becoming a teacher.
