I was then just  3 years old ... a year before my  walkabout with the baboons ... no memory   of it being built ..  thereafter i  have memory  of the  huge gardens  and  we used  to  scale the fence and  play  there ...  on  dread of being caught ...  one  day  I remember  we  even ambled into the house  and  walked around  unchallenged ...  a total contrats to our homes  slate floors in the entrance hall ,,, nice uge lounge and entertaining area ... etc ...
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

Alf you're right. Look directly up from the circle, the long house, you can see the front door and the first bedroom window, thats my old house. In this pic that house is about 3years old, the date cast into the underside of the laundry trough was August 1956. Look to the right and the next house was Diana's, you can just see a wee bit of the end of the roof. This house is quite a bit older than mine (35-1).
All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!

This is just great !!! As you all know my DAd worked for Rumbel who did all the building work in those days. As far as I can remember my dad had the only  Chev Bakkie like the one in the picture......my dad driving towards the building site?... I'd like to think so.
