I  recall my father  always saying how  he  always kept his  compusure at social gatherings ..   would order a scotch and soda  at beginning of evening .. and  then thereafter tell the barman on threat of death to when he ordered  further  drinks  to just pour  a glass of  ginger ale ,,,  unless of course he  asked otherwise ...   wise man ...
