Don't forget, Eskom is doing work 2morrow on their lines ..... so the power/juice/krag/energy/current/voltage will be off from 08h00 till 16h00 sunday.......

Mmmh! I was just wondering if other places in the world shut down the grid for the day to service the powerlines?

Make that 06h00 until 18h00... It's BIG; a long shift tomorrow!
All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!

If you not used to the two planned Eskom outages per year you are not a true Oranjemunder wake up and smell the roses.

mmmmm I think most places have multiple lines not us

woo_hoo ha ha laughpoint

Sigh! We use to have our own powerstation. not many places had that either....

Some operators used to phase the gens without a dip they had the magic touch and others just couldn't get it and would dump the whole station at times

Michael Alexander

Gee! It's over, that on earth was that.....? that was a 13 and a half hour power cut.....  23_146_26

Um, it appears the jobs are taking longer and longer to complete. Alfie must be slowing down...............

Nah, Alfie's still up to speed...    image21  it's Eishkom that had problems at Aggenuys. A big job there was the need for the extended shutdown today; usually the maintainance stops are from 08h00 to 16h00.

Mike@, Oranjemund, Alexander Bay, Port Nolloth, Kleinzee, Baken, Koeboes, Steinkopf, Vioolsdrift, Springbok... These folk don't have or even had power stations. They like us are fed from what are called radial feed lines which means there is no alternate power line to supply them when maintenance gets done on a sub or a line. Just part of living in the sticks; so cheer up old lad and think of it as an opportunity to camp out in the garden and enjoy the silence from all those electrically driven sources of noise.
