What get's me, is why was the husband released and what on earth were they doing in the townships at that time of the night?

Strange but  true  folk  take risks ,,,    No excuse  for the perpetrators of the  crime , I mean  why murder  ??  ( in all likelyhood  all  other horrors  for the woman after her  husband  was  shoved out  of the vehicle )  Not  nice .. not good    ,,  a  tragedy  that could have been avoided .....

In the papers today, it turns out the wife wanted to go and see the "real" africa and wanted to visit the townships....

Even the township tour operators don't venture into the townships in the middle of the night.....

My thoughts exactly.  What do you want to see in a squatter camp in the night?????
The "real" Africa - PLEASE!!!! Go into the bush and look at the animals and the beauty of the real Africa - much more interesting. (and safer)

Europeans tend to be a bit naiv about SA. They say all blacks are the real Africans. They're col... They know how to party... So they believe townships are must as a tourist. I've seen reports on TV of the kind.

Jnr, I think in most cases 95% of the people living in Townships are genuine honest people..... unfortunately the other 5% are barbarians who will murder you for a cellphone.....

Ever so true Mike  about the  95 /5 principle ... there are many guided and properly  secured tours  into these areas  to the  popular taverns  that are on the  accredited route ..  sadly so they opted for the  wrong choice  and yes ended up in the wrong  corner at the wrong time .. sooo sad ....

The reason why they wanted to go to the township was because of the famous resturant that Jamie Oliver went to he did a 5 page spread of it here in the UK telling people how good it was aqnd they had to visit it...I bet he didnt go there in a taxi on his own......

Police said that otopsey report will not be disclosed to the public or the papers . Maybe because of the violent death she suffered . The police say the report will only be given to her husband.
If you notice something in the papers -  post it for us plse.

In british paper today...the taxi driver was involved..he has been arrested..had a funny feeling he had something to do with it....

Hennie  acording to the one report in the papers  a female resident of the area  in which she was found said  from what she saw in he back of the  taxi she had been  sexually assaulted ..   the report has not been broadcast again,,
