 thnx thnx thnx

We are really lucky to have such hard-working and dedicated children, they both make us very proud!

I'm told boys are a lot different though so wonder what Kelvin's schooling career will be like!

Well done girls, awsum stuff, keep up the good work.

Mike & Michele, please don't forget to give yourselves a huge pat on the back too for providing them with the necessary grounding, support and stability to fare so well.

Funny how we find it so easy to bash ourselves up about our kids shortcomings blaming ourselves endlessly, yet we can't acknowledge the role we play in their successes.  It's time to acknowledge that.  Take it from one who loves to blame herself every time her kid displays some behaviour she doesn't like, thinking "she must've learnt it from me" & then proceed to bash myself up about it for days on end -  funny how when Caryn received headmaster's award at the end of grade 7, did i acknowledge myself in the role i played with that success? - no ways, even after repeated congrats from the other parents about my role in it! I looked at them thinking "why are you congratulating me, i didn't do anything, all the credit must go to her". It has taken 3 years of letters from her high school's headmaster for it to finally sink in that perhaps i do assist in helping her to achieve her excellent results - i love giving credit, have a hard time accepting it.  I think it's aswum that they acknowledge and thank the parents for assisting the students to achieve excellent marks, acknowledging the role we play on the homefront in setting these standards.  It took Table View High to show me that children's academic successes don't come out of a vacuum at school, they're all part of a bigger picture with the values, etc. instilled at home.

So, once again........well done Cameron and Shannon for your dedication and hard work and well done Mike & Michelle for helping them to achieve these successes, you play a bigger role than you realise.  bravo to all of you.
