Oranjemund Gets All Grass Golf Course

A meeting of golfing enthusiasts was called on November 12 for the purpose of forming a Golf Club at Oranjemund.For the past year or two work has been going on steadily in preparing the ground,planting trees and grass and laying out the greens along the north bank of the Orange River. The result has been an all-grass nine-hole golf course, the obly one of it's kind in the Territory.

A substantial and comfortably furnished club house has been built with water and flush sanitation laid on.

The C.D.M. is providing the clubs which will be issued to members on loan.
Subscribing members now total thirty, including several ladies.

The first elected committee consists of Mr.P.J. du Cane, Chairman; Dr.A.Muir, Captain; Mr.E.Denman, Secretary; Messrs, Mackintosh,Brinton and Richardson as committe members.
