Sandy, we know you can do it....

are-you-there

One wonders, why it has taken so long for man to return to the moon? Surely by now, we should have people living on that piece of cheese........

Is there water under the ground there? Was the moon once part of the earth? Where did it come from ?

So many questions, such little time.... SIgh!

I just received a mail from Matthew telling me that the heatwave has been rather extraordinary. Wow!

Well don't make me homesick - wantt o swap places? I was out on The Ridgeway earlier walking the dogs. Needed gloves, fleeces and the all-weather overcoat. And my Hi-Tecboots with my SealSkinz golfing socks on top of woolly socks.

Luckily the sky was cloudless and blue amd the Red Kites were out hunting for rodents in the fields.

Humid in Omund also.... lost a few fridges, the store has two big extractor fans on the blink, waiting for the men in blue to come and repair them.... in the portapool everyday after work so far this week, not high temps, 28,26 and 24, but the humidity is high, there was meant to be thunderstorms and rain here last night, but alas, nuttin'   ....

On top of it, the people in the block are braaing lamb chops..... slurrrrrp!

Now that the Russians have stated their aim to get to the moon this thread is as good as any to open the debate about their chances of being capable in terms of their hardware, software, support resources and ability to fund the project.

Will they have togo cap in hand to NASA for a joint venture in terms of technological logistics?

According to Mitt that manNewt is barking mad to suggest America will sanction a manned Moonbase.

Whatever the outcome of those two idiots political tit for tat spats, the moon is once again grabbing centre stage and a new generation of voters are taking note.

Knowing how close Russia got to landing a man on the moon ahead of America, it seems that the first man to walk on the surface of the moon will perhaps not be from either of the two major runners.

I think the manned missions to Mars has to be an international collabortion to spread the cost and  might be what decides which nations will make up the crew anof the first historic manned mission to go to Mars.

The results of the poll reveal that 66% of you believe that Neil Armstrong did walk on the moon. This leaves me to wonder what conspiracy theories will rise up when the first Mars mission gets underway.

Which movie set with they use this time?

Maybe they can try filming at pomona...mind you if any film director worth his salt see that area ,it would probably blow his mind....  :emot112_2:

Bwahaahaahaa!

Without using CGI, how would the director secure the huge backdrop of space and a small Earth?

Perhaps the East wind would play a part in the movie? Lunar wind is dusty and hot...?? Nah. Silly idea.
