Ricky Barron (RIP)

(In a) White Room - Cream (Clapton)

PS: I can live with the Rules................../continued!

Diana Rudd (Boehme)

@ Ricky.....I knew the tune but like hell could I think who sung it or what it was called. Reading your answer I say "of course yes dah".  Rules.....after 2 glasses of Shiraz....rules don't apply anymore.

Di, what is you favourite type of music?

The quiz participants are too good. They know their stuff.

And so they need some serious challenges to give their memories a serious shake-up.

Tonight I will upload the first of a series of tunes to cause you maximum discomfort and to have you castigate yourselves for not guessing the singer or the song.

Until then, relax the brain, hone up your memories and get ready!

I think White Room was sang by Jack Bruce on both the single and on the Wheels on Fire album.
Jack also co wrote it and was Creams usual vocalist

Robert Bruce

Yes you are correct. The track I selected was Clapton's version. And for the splendid historical factoids Mike, you get a Karma point.

Di, it is all relative. One man's meat is another man's poison.

I am sorry if the tracks appear to be difficult for you to recognise. If this was a quiz for classical music I would not k ow a Debussy from a Benjamin Britten or a Bach from a Puccini. They all sound the same to my ears.

Only because I do not relate to the genre. There was not a profound event to connect my mind to the classics like there was the free Rolling Stones concert at Hyde Park which got me to 'connect' with the Blues and Rock genres.

Strange thing is that I know Handel's laborious five hours or more long "Messiah" oratorio better than I know 1980's - 2010 Brit,USA and ZA pop music.

If it doesn't resonate, it is lost on me. Not that Handel really resonated. I recall it only because I lost the will to live after two hours of it.....!
