I read this article in one of the Perth newspapers yesterday, I thought that rule number one about breaking down in the outback, was to stay by your car.....

If I really had to walk, I would do so during the night and not in 40 plus sun.... also drain the car for fluids......

When I was small and we went on holiday down to Cape Town my Mother use to pack in enough water/cooldrinks/coffee and padkos for a week... just in case.
Dad made sure there was plenty of water for the car to.  sorriso2
