To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

Lets be fair we have had a water shortage for the last couple off months . You want the resevouirs to be emptied from watering parks or you want bath water ? Unfortunately there was not enough water for both .

@ Stephen, whilst I agree fully with you about the water shortage, that particular piece of ground has not seen water for two years now..... I commented years ago about this stretch of 5th avenue..... I can full understand the problem with pumps and wells, however one cannot lay the blame for this piece of desert returning on a "recent" problem, go have a look at the practice range..... Oh! and whilst we are on the subject of water, anyone see this mornings big pipe burst down by the bedsitters/hospital back road?

On the positive side, I did notice large sections of the 1st 5th avenue park/ the Eastgate park and the road into town being watered today, in areas that did not always receive moisture.... so things must be improving.....

Talking about watering grass areas and water shortage etc, I did notice how lush and green, upper management lawns were looking on our recent return to Oranjemund. Makes one think does it not..................?????????

Watering lawns is a foreign concept to the masses from up north.
The desert will take back this town when all others are gone one day.

Taking your pet a vet is also a foreign concept to them, they laughed at me for doing it.  image14

Looking at the photo's taken .... "Parks and Gardens" have been going downhill for a good 2yrs now so I would not have thought the water shortage of the past few months is the main culprit. Yes Mike S. the desert will take back our town one day...as sad as that may be...I would prefer that than see it totally negelated by the masses. As for pets they obviously listen to our Uncle Jacob or did he learn that from the North.
