I believe our old Traffic Cop, Bossie  Bosman passed away.

This man was also one of those unique characters who we could tell many a tale about....

Condolences to the family!

I can remember Bossie chasing me in his white beetle. I was on my little honda 125 scrambler. He never did catch me but i am certain he knew it was me (I was 12 at the time). I think he wanted to catch me "red handed" so to speak. Bless him, what a character.

Condolences to his family.

I recall Youth Club days when we hid bottles of booze in our parents post boxes, session at Youth Club, slip out the back door to post office, sit on the wooden bench having a few toots... Worked quite well... Little did we realise that Bossie had us under surveillance,  around ten we returned to the Post Office Bar, only to find that our bottles had been removed, turn out Bossie had got the Postmaster to open the back door of the place and pro ptly removed the bottles to his house for "safekeeping"

thanks Michael for the info . I Remember , one day wife fetched me at PCC. That particular evening was the diamond queen ball. wife had a appointment to have her hair done by Marina Bothma . as she was running late , she really stepped on the pedal. entering town there was Bossie . I had to tell wife to stop and hear what Bossie had to say . Fact was that he and assistant Willem De Boer was trapping speeding motorists . The result was that wife had to go on the red carpet - she appeared before the GM , the GM fined her R10 for speeding , She could choose where to send her donation to , and she chose to give it to the SPCA . but only after she asked him if the money could be donated to a poor OPS child who needed a new blazer . After discovering that it was our own child - the GM politely explained that things does not work like that  , and that trespassers are not allowed to donate money to their own families ! But they had a good laugh about her joke !
