42U. At the open air "ERIC DAVIES MUSEUM "  .. the museum that never was  . Huge machines crumble away into rust

Michael Alexander

I see a tree in the background, was this in town then or out at 42U?

I wonder , where has all the humour gone. Where have all the girls gone . Gloria , Virginia , and the girls at Mittag on sea. and the mermaids. and the flower of mooi meisiesfontein ? . names that disappeared . place name boards removed and dumped on a scrapyard . I often wondered .. will the organisation CDM also just become a forgotten name? just a ghost like Pomona ?

That there was not a crane but part of the original bucket whell / scoop belt excavators.
Theres are still pics of these conveyor wagons used in series to moved the sand stripped by the scoops over a greater distance to the spreader, enabling a larger area to be cleared of overburden. Something like the bridge of the O&K S800 bucketwheel.

All things electrical contain smoke. Making it come out is easy; getting it back in? ... yeah right!!!
