The house was packed, extra seats were brought in to line the aisles..... Folk were a standing at the back..... and the band played..... If one closed your eyes, as I did, you could feel yourself drifting down Bourbon street..... The highlight for me, was the tune Dan put together after a visit to Kolmanskop...... the sounds....perfect, all in all , what a lekker night.... really awesome stuff.... got to speak to Dan and the members after the show, had to stand in the queue behind the "groupies" holding their recently purchased CD.... clambering for an autograph.....

This was highly appreciated.....  Thanks SHOUT!

It was also nice to hear that the band had visited OPS in the morning.... gave a talk and played a few tunes to senior crowd.....

The tunes that were played this evening will be appearing on a new soon to be released cd..... we Oranjemunder's were the crash test dummies and had the honour of listening to the music first...

details to follow....

Here's an interesting read in Dan's Blog, with reference to the group's recent tour up to Oranjemund,

I've removed the gigs I'd advertised earlier for the simple reason that Dan has left the Johnny Clegg Band so won't be appearing at the Royal Albert Hall.  The reason for his departure is primarily linked to the fact that the band's management have decided that they want a Johannesburg-based band.  In view of the fact that Dan is not prepared to sacrifice his considerable business, career and social interests in Cape Town to move to Johannesburg, he elected to resign.   If any of our overseas forum members would like tickets (x4) to the Johnny Clegg Concert at the Royal Albert Hall on the night of Wednesday, 27 March, 2013, or to the James Taylor Quartet at Ronnie Scott's (x2) on the night of Saturday, 23 March, 2013, please inbox me.  The JC tickets are 60 quid each and the JT tickets are 30 quid each.

WoW! Wonder if that will be the first Oranjemunder to play at the Royal Albert!

The answer to that would be very interesting to know.   I hesitate to say "Yes" because Oranjemunders have this habit of popping up all over the world (where you lest expect to find one!) and a number have achieved some quite astonishing accomplishments!   Maybe they've got an "Honours Board" in the Royal Albert Hall?  Will get someone to check.
