As many of you old timers remember, there was a pig farm to the east of town that was knocked down in the early 70's..... this part of town is developing into a private street , where non company people put up their park homes and houses....

I take it that the ground must be quite fertile? ha ha!

I remember that old area being a no go area - very mysterious to us children of the 60s - KGB Kremlin? ha ha!
Remember walking past there in the 60s and wondering what goes on in there, remember the exaggerated thoughts of youth?

We carried on walking into the desert and in those days (town still closed very few houses on the east side of town) there was a barbed wire fence on the east side of town, we climbed through and walked till we reached the dunes.

Played in the dunes on the blind side and walked home quite late. Got a roasting from my dad that night for our escape through the iron curtain. There goes my childish brain again!

Memories!

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
'..holy sh*t ..what a ride!
