Excuse me but if you remember correctly you put your own beer in the trolley? And anyway - there was no more space in the fridge considering it was already stocked with Windhoek and Tafel!

Oh yes, and then my dear husband - who filled the trolley up with all of his braaimeat and beer - left me to lug all the shopping home!

No Mike - that was Shannon - after I walked home from the rugby club on Saturday night 18th July because everyone was too pissed to drive me home and our bakkie had to stay there because it had the braai drum on it!

Tell us more on Shannons arrival Michele - the pieces are only begining to slot together...........  202

Michele Alexander (Voden)

Okay - let me bore everybody in the bar seeing as there's not much else happening!

Shannon was due to be born on Tuesday 21st July by C-section as she was a breech baby. I only finished work on the Friday and on the Saturday there was a big rugby match on at the rugby field - Oranjemund vs Rehoboth Falcons. So the guys at Spar organised a braai next to the rugby field - using our bakkie to transport the braaidrum - and we had a great afternoon watching the rugby and talking rubbish. Well, it got late and I wanted to go home - not unfair seeing as I was ready to pop soon - but I couldn't take the bakkie as Mike needed it for the braai drum and I refused to drive with anybody else as they were all falling over drunk. So I walked home in the cold through the alleyways and when I woke up the next morning my waters broke - it's a joke that we always blamed it on me having to walk home in the cold!

There - everyone asleep now! How about some drinks now!

Cameron's was much less eventful - she was due by c-section on Tues 6 March - also a breech baby and Tuesday is always c-section day in Oranjemund! But Doppies (Dr Grobbelaar) had to fly to Cape Town with prem twins that were born on the Monday evening - so I get a phone call on Monday evening to tell me that they wouldn't be able to operate on Tuesday, only on Wednesday. That was fine with me so it was back to work on Tuesday to finish off a couple of things, drove myself to hospital early on the Wed morning - Mike stayed at home so that he could drive Shannon to Ceu's when she woke up. As I was being pushed into theatre Mike still hadn't arrived and the doc wasn't Doppies but the gynae from Windhoek - Dr Roberts - at that moment Mike came waltzing down the passage and Dr Roberts asks is that my husband? he looks familiar? I give the name and he asks is his Dad Jock Alexander - yes - turns out the doc  was here for work and to attend lodge that week-end - of course Mike had to keep him supplied with drinks the whole week-end as he had delivered his daughter!

image201 I too blame the cold walk home........Don't feel bad about telling stories in the Bot Bar - if the admins would put up our baby board as requested over and over and over again - we could confine our stories to there.  image14

I'll have a hot whiskey please - hold the whiskey please  image21

Michele Alexander (Voden)

I agree with you - these moderators are being rather slow with our board - well, if we bore them enough they might jump to it!

Okay, one whiskey-less whiskey coming up - would you like that on the rocks or with water?
