was'nt  it  Mrs  Malleson  .. cos  the  name  Bryden  Malleson  comes  to  the  fore  for  me  .. they stayed  just  up the  road  from us ..  I  saw  Mrs  Malleson  and  her  daughter  Ingrid   a bout  11   years  ago  in  Claremont , turned  out  Ingrid  worked  in  the same  building  as us .. never  associated  untill  i  saw  her  with  her  Mom ..
To see  sometimes  requires that you  first believe .

Here's a picture of the little cardboard record book I was given when I was a Brownie as well as some of the fabric badges and my tie pin.

Hey that's cute. I haven't got anything left out of my times at the scouts. We were just around the corner from you.
Tough boys we were. Fighting giant dixies in the first Ave. bushes at night. Crossing rivers with crocodiles on the scout lawn....

Is anything with South West Africa on it hard to come by these days?

Not hard to come by, but collectable.... I collect Paper money, and have been searching high and low and whenever I am in Cape Town, always make a turn at "other People's Junk" flea Market at Paarden Eilend to visit Peter, who sells coins and notes, I'm looking for a Satndard Bank, SOuth West Africa Note, dated WIndhoek, there is also a Volkskas Bank version also, ha, remember Volkskas Bank.......

Here's a picture of my girl guide uniform that I wore when I was in Std. 4 and 5. I tried it on a few months ago and yes ... it still fits ... I even have the whistle ...

I am hoping I've attached a page from the May 1967 Oranjemund Newsletter which shows the opening of the new Guide Hall on 22 March 1967. I am in the photo although it's hard to describe where I'm standing (the back row, to the right of the second adult, looking up with my mouth open - I'm the short one in between the two girls in the front row - I bet you're totally confused).

Can you recognise yourself in this photo? If the photo doesn't attach properly I'll send it to Michael to put on my photo page.

Cheers, Melanie Jonker
