As yourself Robert - I too am not a medic; but I would tend to err on the side of caution where drugs are concerned, whether on perscription or OTC; personally I think that if drugs are going to be taken long term - then it should be done so under medical supervision..........there are a lot of side affects that could occur; even after the human-guinnea pig trials have been completed and the drug has been deemed safe and suitable. Again that is only my own opinion and I don't claim to know the ins and outs of meds, although in saying that I would thoroughly research any presription written for me before I commence treatment.

As Robert says, Ulcers have a different origin, its the so called Helicobacter, that can be cured,

Aspirin has effects on the stomacs walls, it can aggrevate if you have what i had.....Gastritis

Never the less, aspirin helps keeping the blood thin and helps preventing clogging of the vessels, what ever that can cause, heart attack, Stroke, blocking of Arteries, all are life endagering........

In general we talk about  elder persons like me, but it can hit youngsters too.

Combined with high blood pressure, stress, high blood fats, overweight, diabetes, to little exercise, smoking, Alcohol, Caffeine, all these factors count.

Thats why old buggers like me have to take all that, aspirin, Beta blockers, Diabetes medicines......

Overweight can lead to Diabetes type II, the problem is , you dont notice it unless you have blood tests made by chance..... I have no overweight, yet Diabetes II, so all rules have exeptions

Overweight however is the main cause.

Gastritis, has also side effects. The body can not take on Vit B12. That results in anemy with serious effects to death if not attended to. Usualy you must get injections on a regular base.

Vit Pills want solve the problem since the body does not absorbe Vit B12

I am no medic, but thats from own experience. Learned the hard way LOL

Wow, what a long post LOL

Lets see what the experts say !!! meanpuff

Regarding Michaels symtoms, now I can't spell this word so :"Hihaytis Hernia". has much the same feeling in the chest painfull, like a big bubble. Feels like ,you would think ,you going to have a heart attack. The aspirin, I've also heard of.

Never mind the medics, Regards Doctor Diana

Just to add.. eating white bread, cheese, tomatoes lettuce, cucumber and red wine tend to bring on the symtoms. Having 2 tablespoons of unflavoured Belgium yogurt a day seems to help.

Unfortunately I swayed towards Chemistry..........

bravo I hated chemistry at school. Never could figure out what the purpose was behind all those acid titrations we had to do. Fortunately though, it now pops up every now and then in my current hobbies and interests. I'm currently experimenting with "Browns" Gas. There's been much hype on the net recently about using it as an alternate fuel source, so I thought I'd give it a try. I got some ideas from the net, and will keep you posted on developments.

Am I invited? I can provide the fireworks. Ammonium Perchlorate makes for a nice cozy candlelight experience.
