Yes, it is Mrs Davis.  I did send her name to Mike after I remembered, along with some others where I initially had ??, which he inserted, but must have overlooked Mrs Davis...one too many  by then??

Hi Uncle Paul,  we're all doing well.  Mom gave me a number of old photo's a while back and there is one of you and I when I was about 1 or 2 in granny and grampa's garden in Oranjemund.

Hey Jean. See you have finally joined the site and can't stay away from it anymore ... Great photos. Wasn't Katia in the same class as you, or were there 2 English classes back then?

Hi Patricia, yes there were 2 english and 2 afrikaans classes.  I don't think that Katia and I were ever in a class together, unless it was before Std 2.  I remember we had Miss Strang for Std 1 - she was VERY strict (married and became Mrs Nortje if I remember correctly).  She had a passion for smacking you behind the knee with one (or more!!) rulers.  Sub A teacher was Mrs Castle and Sub-B teacher was ....now for the life of me I cannot remember her name (she dated Bob Ellis for a while) - Miss Parker??  Not sure...PS - enjoyed the pics you posted of your recent holiday to France.

I remember Miss Strange very well. Had her in Std 1 too. She used to pinch our ears so badly that her nails would leave traces. Must say that she was at the top of my least favorite teachers.
