Hi Mike, That is a wonderfull photo of my Nanny.  Just like I remember her.  She was a lovely person, always smiling and always spoiling us.

Auntie  Jean  and  Uncle  Sandy ... he  was  my  Godfather  and  Auntie  Jean  my  Godmother ....  they  stayed  in  first  avenue ,  Remember   Beth ?   I  spent  many    happy hours  at my  Auntie  Jeans ....  got some  photos  too  will  submit  when  scanned ... Last  time  I saw Auntie  Jean  alive  was  in  Bloemfontein when she was  staying  with   her one  daughter   .. uncle  Sandy  did  Photography   in  the  early  years , got a  picture  of  me the  one day they tried  to  take  a pic  and I  refused  to  smile ....  Its  priceless ... all kinds of  toys  stuffed in  my  arms  Noddy  , Big ears  etc  . to  no avail  , so  they  took  a  picture  of  this  scowling  little  boy ...

Hi Sandy, I am Jean & Sandy's grand daughter.  Mary the daughter in Bloemfontein died a couple of years ago.  Beth is in Durban and eventually got married and has 2 kids.  Think they are 19 and 21 now.

I presume you are referring to Beth Laughlin...who got me into serious trouble (at the tender age of about 6 I think) when she convinced me that I should bunk brownies (easy!) and could ride her bike (with her in the saddle) by sitting on the handlebars and steering (myself? - God, I know I was (am!!!) blond but really) down the dirt road on 2nd Ave. Needless to say I came short and got quite hurt and was left to my own devices to explain to my folks why I was 1) late, 2) bleeding from my leg, arm, face etc and 3) (more importantly) causing disruption to their Friday night "guests" (pissup with their mates).
