Trenches and Pipes!

I remember the days as a kid in the 70's growing up in the town, it was a time of development,,,, Pipes were being laid , especially down 7th avenue... and as kids , it was great fun to climb in those trenches and run down them, thats why I just had to stop and take this pic last week, it is along 5th avenue, facing east, towards the seven sisters... a damaged pipe is being replaced......

I made a cork covered coffee table for my bedsitter .. needed  nice big round round legs for it .no prob  go to the nearest trench digging , there were offcuts  of 175 mm PVC pipe .. loaded them into my car   attached them to table  and covered in cork tile .. that table went  down to CT with me and was eventually given to Viv when she was setting up her own flat after she and Mike split .. that selfsame table carried on  its life when it traveled up to PTA .. hey Viv  .. you still got that legendary sewage pipe legged table ??
