Not exactly a  news coverage but under the letters  section , written by a Mr lategan from sea point , obviously at the venue where this asshole was ..  Mr  yengeni was seen enjoying some bubbly at one of camps bay's chi chi restaurants .. yengenis luxury car  was parked in a bay reserved for the disabled , when asked to move it he refused ....da da .. his parole only ends this month and untill then he is forbidden to to drink alcohol ...  yada yada ..   me?? I  would have let his tryes down and phoned the cops .. the doos .. he thinks he  untouchable , especially so that he had  a crowd of  assholes carry im to prison .. including  the now  thrown to the side   Ebrahim  Rasool .. aka Ebrahim the Fool ... When i was out the one evening with bosslady at waterfront  she bumped into  him of course threw a shitfit when he seemed to know her movements .. pity is only when we left the venue ( she  wanted to as she felt uncomfortable  with that fact ) only then did she tell me it was him ..  Pity  i  could have  had the  pleasure of  throwing a drink in his  face .. and  bet 100 $ I  would ahve .. That sort of  " I'm untuchable "  arragance pisses me off ...

His picture was in the Sunday Argus, it was like he was just out looking for the attention.

in  yesterdays paper .. cop admits he was ordered to change   details of yengeni  arrest  the night he was caught for drunken driving ... told by  senior  ' "its not the first time  its happened  and it wont be the last "  so I wonder how the courts are  going to handle this  one  .. cos  then  under the law   teflon yengeni will have broken two of his parole conditions  which  means full sentence to be served ?? maybe this  time round the  law will take its due course without interference  and  that  bloated  tick  that  blots   decent society  will  get whats  correctly due ..    and if  so will he  have the usual parade of  fools  carrying him to jail on their shoulders  ???

Sandy, attended a meeting Saturday, the cops are battling with people they cannot get out of positions they have been appointed to by the ANC. Unable and unwilling to make a difference these persons are trying to ensure competent people cannot function.
Try running a department, when your annual budget for equipment is less than my monthly pension.
I take my hat off to the men in blue that are trying & beleive me, there are those that have this countrys best interest s(BLACK / WHITE what ever South African you are) at heart.
But its us as the public that have to stand up and hold those accountable for change to instigate the changes.
Crime in New York was turned around by a Zero tollerence attitude, its time we all call for the same here.
Police have been told to concentrate on the major crimes, while it is the petty crimes that start youngsters off on the wrong track, it gets worse until the major crimes are committed.
Metro police are a waste of time and should be absorbed back into the general police force, the ANC by splitting the policing forces has effectively given criminals a free hand.
Only when the whole lot works as a cohesive unit will we be able to reclaim our streets. Its at the public level where we have to demand the service levels we are entitled to.
Easier said that done, like farting against thunder, but with enough of us going for it we can sure make a stink and hopefully get things changed.
The whole f****** point is not to give up.

Evil prospers when good citizens do nothing.

Take a stand & get involved, and then do something about a situation, write a letter, join the police reserve, neighbourhood watch,  anything YOU can to make the difference.

Anarchy and mediocrity  is  their biggest success  story .... that ensures as well that the evil  prospers .. yes we have a neoghbourhood  forum  .. UWRA  and they  engage with police , local  govt etc  regular meetings  newsletter   .. result .. our  area  reasonably  crime free  and people living in harmony ..

Hi Gang
Clive was that New York zero tolerance attitude not called the "broken window syndrome" whereby the chief of police/commissioner declared that the smallest of crimes would be prosecuted. I understand that this strategy actually worked and he did succeed in bringing down crime in NY. If you break a window you will be prosecuted to the max. that the law can throw at you. Agree with you Clive, everyone should stand together and maybe the "broken window syndrome" pursued more vigorously by the citizens in conjunction with the law enforcement forces can work.

Johan the guy I do patrols with worked in NJ and says that those cops are tough but fair, and take no s--t, tell you once, offer you the option to obey and if you dont, march you off.
Also they are so well equipt and their equipment works  not like our police. Lastly, I thinh he said there were over 9000 NYPD cops in & around the city. ( Makes one wonder hoe we could turn things around here if we had sufficient cops who wanted to be police and were not just doing it to have a " job")
