Lead Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Rolling Stones, Bread, ah yes those were the days. Each one of us had loud powerful stereo sets and we all tried to play our music louder than the guy in the room next door. Dieter Heiser, Keith Gass, Derek Anderson, and company.

Then there was the mess where slap up meals were served three times a day. Some of the contractors we had there in those days were quite rough guys from some eastern countries who probably had never seen this kind of food. One guy used to pile his porridge on top of his scrambled eggs and then pile a couple of slices of bread on top of that.

I remember the students comming to work at X'mas time to work during the holliday to earn some extra money.Talking abou the  the good food served in the mess, also some of some were surely not used the be served with anything and as much that was on the daily menue.Everybody heard about the one 'big eater' who re-ordered for his MixedGrill one mutton chop after the other untill he finaly finished his plate with 24 chops. Every Sunday lunch  Ice cream was served, there were many of us who ordered it in a soup plate. There was nobody to tell you :   Now you have enough,no matter of what
and how much you asked for. This all happened around the sixties. man were 3 chiefs,a German,a South African and an
Italian, each in turn responsible for the food prepared for one week. Whatever was served First Class.

You surely brought back memories. Still remember the breakfast runs we used to have?

The higest love of all finds it's fulfilment not in what it keeps, but in what it gives.  We may give without loving, but we cannot love without giving

Charmaine,
Cleared the attic the otherday and found photos of those breakfast runs.
Just need to get the scanner up & running again.
