Was'nt it cool to have a proper swing in your garden, the type that got cemented into the ground..... wow your own personal swing.... no more park for me, or so you thought, all our friends had their own swings, and no matter how much we pleaded with dad, just wait , just wait..... I think I was about 17 when we got our swing..... Grrr! a bit late.......  ;)

i was at norman buckleys house, next door to aunty flora frys,he had the makings of a swing, cemented poles and all, alas no f***** rope,so as we always did,we improvised ,to my cost.we got an old oil drum and tried to stand on it ,jump to see who could hang onto the swing bars, great the first few times, time to up the anti and move the oil drum a few feet backwards, youve quessed the rest, aunty flora to the rescue, missed the bar ,got flipped, stait on my back, thought i was gonna die, badly winded, with the loveing care of aunty flora, and some of her lovely cakes,im here to tell the tale, thank you from the bottom of my heart aunty flora xx

Hey Barbara, any idea where Lynette is these days? Her Mom ran the Dry Cleaners for years. Do you know if the Dry Cleaners still operate ..... If not, what is the building used for these days? Anyone?

Michael Alexander

Andre Bezuidenhout, is still here and runs a very successful engineering business.. I bashed into his mom and dad, in the museum last week, Pete and Marlene.

The old Dry Cleaners is now housing a private cleaning company, and the laundry opposite the library, is a private concern, run by Riana Lamont.

I remember Andre as just a lighty. It's amazing how everyone has " grown up ". As they say, today's youth are tomorrow's leaders!!! Cheers for that info Mike.
