I always got the impression back in the day, that the Youth CLub and Teenage dances were more "English" dominated, I got the feeling that the majority of the Afrikaaner Youth shied away from these events... ANyone care to comment?

Not according to the photo's you posted some time ago about us lot Afrikaners at the teenage dance  -  Sheena, Natasha, Neville Smith, Hugo van Rooyen, Mariaan Pieterse, myself and a few others.  Also at the Youth Club we appeared in numbers....

I have found some photo's of the teenage dance 1967and 1968. I'm still not so clever with scanning en sending Photo's, but I'll do my best. Where were they held? I can't really remember.

i guess in the Rec Club Hall.... most times?  I don;t know why , but i always got the impression that the Afrikaaner kids were more conservative..... at the youth club, there were 10 English speaking kids to the one Afrikaaner, this is just an observation....... not trying to stir the pot.....

Was it always like this?

Dalene, make no mistake, those few Afrikaaner kids I remembered that did hang out with us, were real naughty shits.... no two ways about that... and good drinkers....   sorriso2
