Either  they veery stupid   or they just  doing the brazen  thing  that is  so atypical to SA .. after all  a rotten  bribe taking  police chief ...  drunk  judges ,,  corrupt  bribetaking  politicians  ,  travelgate fraudsters still  warming their  seats in parliament at   expense of our tax rand ??   and they all   cannot  see that they have indeed   done  something  wrong ??  and  yes are trying all angles to squrim out .. so  yes  why not be brazen like  those  shining examples ... ??? maybe  we got some struggle credentials  hidden away somewhere ??

With all the lack of security at ZA airports, you would have thought first world countries like the USA and Uk, would have banned flights from ZA as a security risk, like 9-11

It appears  the brazen  SAA staff along with our  Home affairs dept   with their  now deemed useless  passports are  turning us into a pariah  state again,,,  I recall travelling in europe  in the 80's on business  trips ... my SA passport was a gaurantee  to   be pulled to one side and have my luggage  searched ...  Boy was I  bolshie .. told them they were welcome to   look through my luggage on the condition they pack it back neatly  as being on business i was virtually living out of suitcase ,, and fixed them with the best  steely  you  crawled out of rotten cheese  gaze that I  learnt from my Mom ... mmm maybe time to consider getting my british passport .. only prob , it puts me in firing line  in ZA  for  jobs ... catch 22  Huh !!??

Sandy, I currently hold two passports.  One German and the other South African.  I have vowed not to hand in either and therefore have a letter from Home Affairs that allows me to travel on both.  I usually leave the country on my South African and enter Europe on my German.  I can honestly say that it has its advantages.  In and around Africa I travel on my South African as thats easier and cheaper then travelling on my German.  My son aged 3 also has a South African and a German.  I know what the South Africans go through in Europe when they arrive with their green passports.  I usually hold up my burgandy Passport when I go through passport control whilst the long line of green passport holders are still waiting to be questioned, searched and prodded and poked whilst I have already left the terminal buildings.
Could you not keep your South African whilst having a British Passport too?
Don't sweat the small shit!

I Namibia , by law , you may only carry one passport.....

Did anyone see the SAA crew being put into the police van at Heathrow? It was no sky news..... holy molly, who on earth allowed those ladies to become air attendants..... they looked like big mamma's and should rather have been working behind the KFC counter.... what happened to the day's when cabin crew were eye candy?

The video was on ETV...news.........

THis reminds me of those policewoman you see on the various SA news channels, Big mamma's, with those massive arses....how on earth can anyone take them seriously as police and how in their wildest dreams do they hope to chase a suspect down......

Good  coment  Mike ...   yes  years ago  becoming overweight  was a surefire way of losing your  job .. also apparently for safety reasons , as  mobility  was a requirement in the narrow aisles on aircraft  in cases of emergency ...  now   you cannot discriminate    according to job requirements  ..  And yes the police .. its a damm joke ...

Hi guys,

I came across this article the other day.

The US armed forces still enforce a strict weight policy when it comes to their enlisted members.
Many of their troops in Irak are currently being lured by the private security companies doing the rounds there. This is a problem for the troepies who want to leave their military jobs, as most of them are contractually bound to serve out their enlistment times, and can't leave the military till their time is up.

Some bright spark has now come up with the "eating for freedom" idea. They basically stuff their faces more excessively than required, gain enough weight to exceed their weight limit, and then get a honourable discharge from Uncle Sam. Problem solved.

I wonder how long the US army is going to take to figure out this scam and change their policies...

goodmorning I used to work for SAA in the good old days back in the early 90 `s in the tech side of things ,747 long range major maintenance at Smuts a great bunch of guys ,very proffesional  and it was a fantastic place to work,  but after I emmigrated to Aus in 95, the stories of what the " new affermative Aircrew " were getting up to were scary then already ,SAA staff having to run around London looking for Pissed staff that were supposed to be on the  next shift out !eventually finding her drunk in a pub toilet !!!!  BierSuip  hosties giving their uniforms to their relatives so they could travel for free ,one staff member being caught out at Smuts as the 747 was being taxied out as she did not know how to close and arm the door`s  shutface and there is many more ..for those interested in aviation issues in general visit PPrune on the website and visit the african aviation page you will be surprised what go`s on and do`s not make the news  :wow1:
