Dragic news from the neighbour town only 10 km away.

Young man 17, run amok in school and town.

Killed schoolars, teachers, bypasser and policeman

In a shoot out with the police he was also killed

Apparently stole a weapon from his father a contractor and run amok

This is one of the worst cases in our history

TV, Radio and special brodcasts are reporting. You will for sure hear about it in your news

A little quite town "Waiblingen-Winnenden" was the scene of the crime.

Georg, I was watching that earlier on this afternoon on Sky, I thought it was only th eYanks that did that type of thing, Gee! and only 10km from you.....

Mike it happened before and will happen again

Last one was in Erfurt some few years ago, also 17 killed, it takes many years for the kids to get out of that trauma....if ever

Thanks god we dont have so much weapons here like the US......or we could expect it more often

I say it is also a result of stupid computer games, if a kid shoots and kills for many hrs, he loses the sense for reality and the inhibition to do so.

My Grandson was shocked, a girl friend is in that school, she is ok, they were hiding in the computer room when the shooting started.

Lots of exitement here right now.

The world is looking at us right now, wish we had nicer things to show.

The youngster took the weapon from his dad, went to school and started killing, he fled and killed a man in the street from a hospital, at gun point he hijacked a car and drove 40 kms away heading to a car selling firm, there he shot again salesman and a costumer.

The police had a shoot out with him, he also killed one or 2 of them. then he was shot......
I feel sorry for the policeman and the families

Some of the kids escaped the turmoil while visiting the Mercedes museum nearby, they were informed there, big panic and shock. Medical personnel came to take care of them, got that from first hand.

It touches you when its far away, but much more if its near you......

That was well planned, he had enough amunition

And i agree with them, look at some games, kids are not ripe for that, i am sure legislation will come out to stop that

Its 5-10 min drive (10km) from here, we are all shocked..........

Watched in the news, many hrs of reports and background info.

The case some years ago in Erfurt was copied taken, he dressed same as those and shot with no merci in the classrooms.

The school intercom system broadcasted in code a warning which was trained in school

The code was Aunty Koma is coming ( read Koma in reverse) may be that saved some lives giving that warning
Some Kids jumped out the windows, injured, but alive.

You can well imagine the shock of that towns people whou all gathered in a service at the local church.

Before the police arrived, he had fled the school building and killed others on the way to hijack a car, carried on to another town and killed 2 more, heavy shooting with the police, he was injured but still run away to shoot himself finally.

2 Police Officers were hit and injured but are alive and in hospital.

He had carried 50-100 rounds of amunition with him, therefore its clear that the plan was well in advance.

Mike may be right, its not the computer games that made him do it. Psychologists are analysing now the background

It will be of little help to the dead and the kids of that school whou have lost all confidence of safety.

Georg, I am a very pro Pc Game fan, I let my kids play games that are perhaps violent, Ie. GTA San Andreas, Cameron enjoys stealing the cars and going for a bit of a thrill, Shannon, will not do anything wrong in the game, and prefers to walk everywhere and just do site seeing..... Now my Father in Law, does not like the isea that the girls play this violent game...... However, it is about educating the child before and throughout the game, ... to make sure that this is fantasy..... not real, just a game..... I am assured that my girls understand this, these games have increased the girls knowledge and reflex skills....... However, I do know of more violent games, that I will not let my children play, or see... but in real life we have people stealing cars and mugging old ladies.... I see no point in sheltering them from lifes realitites..... the earlier they learn what the real world is about the quicker the better they will be prepared for it....

Fantasy and reality..... Everyone loves Micky Mouse, but we don't let mice live in our kitchen.......

Children cannot realy make a difference!!
Why don't kids play out on the street with a ball in reality. This teaches them how to handle almost anything especialy personal crisises. That's a fact!

Thats not the games i am referring too......

Watch one with shooting, sword fighting, hacked of heads, blood squirting in every scene etc......those are not for children but they play it.

If the games are banned for sale to minors it will not help, they will get the games.
Many parents however dont check the kids PC and dont even know how to do it.

One can carry on discussing in that direction and we never come to an end.

I do agree, we can not blame everything on PC´s and TV, but its certainly a factor to be looked at

Yep oldman. It's a matter of being interested in ones kids and taking care of them. Kids need "leadership" showing what is "wrong or right". ect...

We've had several of the amok guys in Germany the last years. 2002 vor eg a guy called Robert aged 19 (also a game freak) killed 17 people. I'm sure the games are not "the" reason, but they're encouraging these guys to do it the way they do it.
