Boats washed ashore

I was coming back from the South on Sunday and as we went passed Port Nolloth there was an amazing site. There had been huge seas in excess of 9 meters according to the locals. 5 diamond boats had broken their moorings and washed up to the sea wall from the T junction next to FNB to almost in front of the magistrates court. One had sunk in the channel and another was busy sinking in the channel. The whole town had come down to the promenade to see and there were graders and such with winches trying to get some of the boats upright. If the channel is blocked this will affect the whole economy of Port Nolloth as boats can't get in or out the harbour and many people will get laid off. Any body else see this or see somethng in the news? I did not have a camera with me, mores the pity but it was horrible to see these ships lying on their sides on the little beach that was left.

Was it some kind of freak storm that had hit only them ?  Can't believe that they would have such rough high seas and you and the Alex bay lot know nothing about it !

If there are pics available somewhere, could anyone post them.  I think you could always ask Nik Kotze from Port Nolloth  -  he might have some pics or would know of someone who will have taken some.....

The sea was angry over the weekend... Some of the worked out mining sites that had sea walls in tact took a beating too. U60 at the ship wreck site was on of them. The wall held for what... 6months something (one of the newspapers said last year it would only hold a few days). The sea is washing in and out over the spot where the ship once lay.

My programms tells me, not wide spread so far....

Click on that  only if you are sure of your virus protection !!!!

I definitely had the alarm, searched now in the net, in a forum they say, its often a false alarm but that virus is used to spy out your PC

Got that warning also on facebook, i therefore stay away there.

It depends on your antivir software too, so lets hope its nothing serious, but i had to report that here, i am waiting for Mike to send me an answer to my PM

Yebo, also got the alarm.  That virus sits in your system, generates a sequence of your key presses and sends it back to I don't know whom.

Got it in my machine once, it created 82 files of itself on my two hard disks.

Thanks for that, I got nothing.... you do not get a virus from visiting a site, what your anti virus is showing you guys, is in all likely hood a tracking cookie, that sends info back to the site, saying where you are and what you viewed..... to have a virus installed onto your pc from a website, you need to download something, like a bat, exe or even an xl file and then activate that file....

My opinion.... it's clean......

No alarms here as well...   (sprayed some doom on my computor to kill off any lurking virus and then added some antibiotics just to make sure)...   LOL
