Last Night I attended a meeting. Had a few drinks in the In on the Square and at 11h50, a bright spark suggested we head on over to the Don. ( A local watering Hole). I scoffed at the idea..... On a Wednesday night at 11h50.... the place will be closed up...half the town is empty, there is no money...so don't waste your time.... We went anyhow.... and holy cow, I was blown away.... we could not get parking near the place and had to park all the way down past the ATM's at FNB.... The place was pumping..... At 02h00, the new owners had to close the bar due to license requirements and had to chase about 50 people out of the place......

I got home at 02h40...... with a smile to my face, thinking, perhaps the bad times are about to change for Oranjemund........

You need to get out more often!!  The Don invariably rocks on Friday nights (your visit was a Wednesday followed by a public holiday on the Thursday so the Friday would have been quieter) so you merely experienced the regular "vibe", irrespective of outside factors.
