Sandy, you remember the choir sessions that Oom Wessie, Fred Briers, Clive Manthee, Frank Quirk and the others used to have on Sunday evenings at Casies.
Pikkewyn ( Chris Swanepoel) was also there. Piet Spies used to be there some times.
They would fill glases with water and by varying the levels would produce the notes, someone played the spoons, drummed & there was a mouthorgan as well.
Believe it or not some of thos chaps could play & carry a tune

Clive  Yes  !  memories most fond ...   Fred  Briers ... I  remember  his  wife  well  she  teamed  up  with  Mrs  Weyers  as  Fat Cat  Catering   many  years ago  .. I  was  on  duty  at  some  or  other function  in the  main  rec club  hall   and  they  did  chinese  .. most  scrumptious   . sadly  I  understand  she  died  fromk  a  massive  asthma  attack ...?

I'm trying to find out what date this function occured on... Now my father cannot remember and the only other person still in town from that party  is Mike Stenson, but he was a spring chicken back then and has attended many parties since and cannot remember either, my fathe remembers that it was held on the day that Weeeepeeee beat the Sharks in the final of the cc?

These pics of Kannie Worrie are great.  Has any one got any pics from the days where he use to camp on the circle at Casies every new year.  Everyone going past his tent use to pop in for drink - in the middle of town.  What a memory.
