This was good news, one of the characters I mentioned in the tall tales of the Main site, the gentle Giant, Tim Fennessy, has just sent me an email. My father is over the moon, so many of the old timers had moved onto higher mansions and we had thought Tim had to..... Well it was really great to receive his email...... here is the Link to his tale....

Mike, Tim would have left during or after 1986. We had a draw for the 1986 World Cup in February and I remember that Marge Cattermole (Sylvia Kermis's Mother) made a large saucepan of onion soup which Tim easily finished by himself. I also remember a friendly football game in which Tim was escorted off the field, much to his disgust but because he was well over the limit and could have sustained injury...........

Hi Mike, I remember one of the ox braais at the rec club and food being dished up, 3or 4 slices of meat on Tims plate ,and he looks and then reaches over and take a fist full of meat and the lady dishing up sticks the fork into his hand ...ouuch.
