Grmmph ... I take note  on this site ...   Mike has an opinion ..  and   pushes buttons ...   I am at times borderline  overopiniated ... ..   but yes  I  post .. for the current   political goings on .. I  currently leave it to the  media  .. I can add no more ,, they echo my and I imagine  many   intelligent thinkers views ,,,  but yes  I doing  at times  David and Goliath fights  ,,   bashing through  the barriers of   beurocratic  strangulation  etc ( b...gg r s   must hate me for  truth speaking )  but  I notice on the site no ,, response  ,,, to many to the button pushing   thorny issues  ,, where valid  reply ... NOW  COME  ON  FOLKS ..  DO SOME  SUPPORT AND  ADDITION ...   IOW ... HAVE AN OPINION ..  !!!

I enjoy your posts Sandy, and appreciate the effort you put into doing what is right and just for us mere mortals.  I simply dont have the time to formulate lengthy debates to post, in fact, I dont even read newspapers anymore...
At the moment I am a total one-man show, and my job description:  Dentist, phytotherapist, farmer, garden boy, hole digger, plumber, admin clerk, accountant, accounts administrator, security guard, lab technician, cleaner, builder, horticulturist, receptionist, student, medicine maker, property seller, bottle washer and chief cook...
Please excuse me from adding another chore to the list!
Hopefully I'll have more time in the near future, yeah right...
But be sure that I always read your posts....

Ok  now  we  have some  movement ...  What I'm actually saying  Bertie  is   echoing  what Patricia put in the shout box ..    " where is everybody ? "   I too  have of late had less time   to spend on  the site .. and  actually  try to have  totally  internet free days now .. happens  some  weekends ..
The  core of  the topic is  .. post ..  start a new topic ..   lots of  little bits of activity make  for a lot ..

Yes Sandy, I agree, very quiet indeed. Wish I had more to add, will do my best.
I promise, if I dont have anything worthwhile to add to the forum, I'll just discuss the weather...  oh, by the way, it IS freezing cold here in Bonnievale today.  Shot through to Robertson over lunch to get some readymix cement - need to finish second shower tonight - I changed the plumbing, so now the shower water can be recycled to water the trees, and not go into septic tank anymore...  Since the bags was still on the bakkie, I just parked it under cover, and walked down to the practice.  My hands and nose feels like it usually does when there's snow on the mountain??? 
Enough of the weather, hope we get some more interesting posts soon!

I read this site about every day.  For those in SA and Namibia - you do in many ways stir memories of home for those who have left.  I often read and think - I did the same thing...  Bertie out in the bush brings some of the Overberg to me and my parents and brother have lived in Bredasdorp for many many years.

Water  Recycling ... well done Bertie ... I installed  many years  ago  a grey water system ,, bath water goes up to a holding tank and is then  used  to  flush the toilet ... then next  was  a  rainwater catchment system ...  so far  got  about  1500 liters capacity ..  Orchids  are hand watered from this  but its tedious ..  the one cellar  cleared to  add more tanks //  hoping for  10 000  liters .. this  will then  have a pressure pump fitted to  do  plant watering ...

@ John, thanx, I'm glad I can bring you some feeling of home...
@ Sandy - I think we should start a topic on water recycling, and get some more ideas from the forum.  I have gathered from your previous posts that you did some changes to recycle, and was really impressed, I actually think your post prompted me to get my *** in gear and make plans here as well.  I have a plan to use some of my water on the plot in a combination of things, will try and get some time to post something about it...
