The Mortuary, The Incinerator and some new Tower.

Somebody mentioned the Morgue awhile back, the lights only on when there's a body in the place, so I went past and took a snap...Next to it is the incinerator for burning the hospital waste, about to months ago it burned itself...   ;D  and now it stands .....alone, burnt,,,,, rusting.....in the hot wet desert.... and I noticed that they ( Namdeb, Telkom, Mtc or Nbc) are building a tower next to all this...

Ok Mike, this is an old topic, but scouting around in old stuff helps find out things you never knew about the old places, and helps those who've left catch up, even if it may seem irrelevant to some of us...
New incinerator in place now... bigger and better (like the yanks...) and the tower next to it is Cell One (?) the new cellular provider.
Now Mike be a good laddie and get the folks an updated pic on all that (I nay have me a camera).

I didn't know about it either ... don't even know where it was ...! But why do they need a bigger one now ... are there more deaths with the aging population in Oranjemund ...?

Was it not oposite the cricket fields,had a light at the door that was switched on whenever there was a body inside.

I  recall  whenever  the  light was on  .. we  used to  go  and  peek  in  the  keyhole .. one  could  see the marble  slab on which the person  would  be laid out .. sometimes you  would  see  the corpse covered witha sheet .. and  then of  course when my  Dad passed away , we  the brothers Buchanan  went  there to collect Dad in the coffin , and put it in the hearse ..  ( unusual but  thats the  way  we  did it) ..Peter my eldest brother  before we  had to go there gave us  each a stiff  neat scotch ..  it  kind of  helped .. but  it  was not  nice  when it  was  so  close   to one ...
