Heard this tale from my meat supplier!

A Taxi leaving Oranjemund yesterday had a flat tyre at the Sendelingsdrift gate. In order to change the flat, the driver had to remove luggage from the Vehicle.  In the process a Namdeb security official noticed a roll of Copper wire, those rolls on the reel...... The name of Namdeb had been burned into the roll, but the individual concerned had tried to remove the name. Anyhow..... when the security official started to question the taxi driver, he merely pointed out one of his passengers.... who denied that the roll belonged to him..... suddenly the roll of copper that belonged to Namdeb now had no owner...... needless to say that the official locked down the gate and nobody could move until the matter was sorted out..... ( I do not know what the result was)

ANyhow...... here are my questions.........

1) Why does'nt Security inspect vehicles leaving the area!In all my years here, nobody at security has ever inspected my vehicle. The okies like to sit in their cubicle ...
2) What's gonna happen when Proclamation occurs!
3) What would have happened if the taxi never had a puncture....

Just my 2 cents!

Mmm the outcome will be interesting ... we currently got a spate of   theft of the old  cast iron  gutter  runoffs ,, some enterprising folk are simply  at night ripping the stuff up out of the ground ...  now  I beg the question ,,, scrap metal dealers  cannot say they do not  know what    it  is  that is being brought in ....  my  two cents  , if  i was the Mayor knowing that the replacement of this  stuff comes out of the kitty ,, scour the  halls of power and find  a few underutilised folk ( sure  theres  still a number lurking  in the dsark corners   and  send them to all known  metal dealer with pictures  of the said item  and others  including  stormwater covers  manhole covers etc ,,  do inspection  and  warn them  " we will be back " and if we find anything resembling this  stuff   you will be shut down .... and  hell man use common sense ,, there is a huge vagrant community that also scavenge scrap metal that  would sell their  best friend  down the  chute for a reward  that would  allow them  a few days  of  blissfull eating of slap chips and drinking cheap wine ....  so put  up posters  with reward offered for information ....  that would lead one to the  perpetrators and possibly the illegal scrap dealers as well ...  straightforward thinking that   the  powers  cannot seem to do ... well thats my experience ...   catmusic
