Who still remembers the Chamber of Mines Athletics meeting (1983) in Windhoek?  There were a few blokes who went along for competing in events they only know.  One bloke (his surname was Spies) had to sell his jeans to get a few rand back in his pocket so he could buy himself a dop after the spending spree at the Kalahari Sands - Moringa Room - the previous night.   I remember Goofy was also one of the 'athletes' - howzit bru - let us know again what events you participated in.  Adriaan, were'nt you a 'buiteperd' winner of the 800m during that meeting?  Tubby Nel was the one who stood up in the lounge where we had breakfast, as if to pray, then said: "Wie moet ons bedank?  Boland Bank!" then sat down again.

Well done - did CDM actually win the Drinking Medal in the end?

Yes, I still remember you caused quite an upstir that day by winning that race!  (See, I'm not so scary at times after all.)

Currently I'm just promoting a few young artists starting out in the music industry.  My work keeps me really busy and I don't get the time to write, compose and record now, but inbetween I help a few guys with their recordings.  I still do the odd performance now and then - mostly corporate stuff and then for curtosy at conventions held for talent students.  I have recently been made an offer by an Afrikaans radio station tho compose and write an Afrikaans Country song for a cd that they plan to make (with 10 different artists, - each with his/her own composition), but my mind just does'nt work in Afrikaans when it comes to country.  So, due to my own 'slegwees', the last recording I've actually done, was when I did backing vocal for an artist from Bloemfontein who recorded his first cd last year.

So, does moving around on stage also qualify as an athletic event?  Just wondering.

You must get Mike to promote you as you can see he is capable of anything and you can see why..... this site speaks for itself.
