Well strike still in progress, sales in the store are starting to take a dip, as people tighten their belts in anticipation of receiving a reduced wage packet.

Can anyone out there confirm that tale, that apparently the President of the Republic, Hifikepunye Pohamba has summoned, the MD, GM and the leader of the MUN to the State House to resolve this conflict........ ? Anyone?

Let us hope that some one, some where, does a big up yours to the government and not allow the MIB to tell us what to do, not like the last strike. Why should the government dictate to us what to do. They don"t interferre with the French mining companies. Maybe cause the f...g french pay huge back handers to all in sundry. Just have to read some of the Wikileaks or a SA publication called Nose Week to see exactly what happens.  to the french and an even bigger to MUN. Yes the strike was leagal just for the affected Boggenvelles staff, not for any other staff. And how dare the union lay a charge of intimindation against the company. I am part of the bargaining unit, but I want to work, I am happy with what I got sorted out. I have a family to support and the union is intimindating me not to work. Maybe when I knock off I should go and lay a charge at the police, SERIOUSLY.

The government can't solve the strike because they know the Company is right and they scared to tell the union this, so they just sit on the fence...

I think one of the main reasons why the Company is very reluctant to give in to the strikers is because most of the issues its being accused of  have to do with Strategic Transformation Project. Giving in will be the same as saying the company has been on the wrong path the last 4 years.
This project came about because the company projected it would start making a loss by 2013, so things needed to be changed to prevent this.

I think the concerned citizens of this town should start having there own demonstrations. 

There is a lot more at stake here than the GM's job...

and if they gave in and they get there housing utility allowance while staying in Oranjemund ....................... surly this will have to apply to the rest of the employees in Oranjemund they will also want the housing utility allowance a catch 2 situation ............... lets hope this get sorted out before they send me a e-mail to switch the power off and role up the bridge
my 2 cents ................ give us all housing allowance and then take it back because we have to rent our houses the company gives you money and then they get it back again a win win situation and the problem with Bogenfels also sorted out ........................ or maybe I don't see the big picture
