Image of the Day #2

Here is the Eagle that carried Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to the surface of the moon at the Sea of Tranquility region to become the first humans to walk on another planetery body.

The Eagle had a few minutes earlier undocked from the Command Moule (CM) and started a set of manouvres in close proxility to the CM. These permitted Michael Collins who remained in the CM orbiting the moon to check the Eagle had not sustained any damage from when it was hauled out of the CSM and seperated from the last stage of the Saturn V rocket.

This activity occured on 3-4 hours after lift off!
