The Salt Pan after the Rains!

I am sure that many of you have played down at the salt pans behind the dumps when you were a youngster... from the road, the pan either looks pink or salty white..... On a trip in the helicopter this morning I was amazed to see the bright Orange colour that the pan had turned too. A beautiful rusty orange, I assume this is due to the recent rains we have had and the run off filling the pan.... I was once told that the pan's level of water is also effect by the sea tides....
