So the roads authority are now in charge of the upkeep of the north bank road between Rosh Pinah and Om und..... 1st thing that they have done, is stopped all heavy trucks from using this road. That means Oranjemund Spar and others can not receive (1) Namib Mills (2) Coca Cola (3) Meat Truck (4) Transnamib.....   How stupid can you be? We are going backwards. turns out that the roads authority will be looking after this important road in the same manner in which they do the rest of the country...... they do not use water to keep the road in good nick..... thus the road is of an inferior quality and cannot take heavy vehicles as this would degrade the road quicker..... their solution, just stop heavy trucks from using this road...... stupid plonkers..... NAMDEB, take the road back, this is not the way forward..... where are all the politicians now? In the North, I believe........

Somebody forwarded me this letter, explaining why the RA wants them to use smaller lorries...

Next the Chinese will get the contract to build the said road. I bet my measly pension that it will be worse then the gravel road we used for years....and only will be completed in 2070..... ThatStinks2 thumper

Heard last night, that my neighbour on returning on the North Bank road also encountered a slow puncture once she had arrived home...

This road is going to cost Oranjemund folk plenty small change on replacing tyres.... the Tyre Corp must be rubbing their hands in glee.....

That was 2 tyres Mike, one slow puncture and the other tyre also badly damaged (it separated) - silly me ended up thinking the empty tank caused the bumpy drive - untill further inspection.... will cost a few dollars to replace

Already hearing of locals now using the long route through SA to get to WHK....

I drove back from Windhoek yesterday in the School's tour bus along THAT road..... sure enough, there was another tyre victim next to the road. The Telecom bakkie had almost made it home, about 5 km short of the gate, they were jacked up changing a wheel......
