Orange River traversed

An intrepid trio of researchers last month ended a complete traverse of the Orange River (2,125km over 61 days) by kayak and had this pic taken on a sandbar at the mouth. The object was to wrap up the first full-length ecological survey of the river.

Thanks Frank! Typical misty morning down at the mouth, good thing they landed on the SA side, as our local law enforcers do not take too kindly to folk having a few toots down at the beach these days....

Just an over zealous police force,although on the other hand when you see how today's folk cannot handle their tipple, it might not be such a bad thing...
