Not going to hash an old story, but this week's pipe burst was one of the main lines into town and caused quite a drop in pressure....

In my own humble opinion, this patching of water lines is a waste of money and only a temporary solution to a much greater problem....

Over the last four months, in an alley way on the way home there have been 4 small water leaks that have been patched..... the company would have saved a bit of money if they had just replaced the entire pipe that we all know is way past it's sell date by 3 decades or so, but instead had to pay private contractors on 4 occasions to "patch" ... do the maths....

If we are serious about the sustainability of the "old oranjemund " town, then we need to start replacing the entire reticulation system...... the longer we leave it, the more costlier it becomes....
