House Valuations!

Well we got the email today, informing us that Namdeb's Side kick department will be sending around a chap to do inspections and measurements on the houses in town in order to appraise them for their value! Is the mine losing their marbles.... last time I checked, you only had to measure one house as all the others are built to the same plan..... on top of that,  I'm sure Kenny or CLive could tell them that every house has a detailed sketch of it down at the drawing office.....

Mike, I couldn't agree more, but then again, he will probably find a difference is the houses...need I say more?

Why do they want to valua the houses? Do all the houses still belong to the mine, or are you allowed to buy them?

Well, Alfred, if I mail an empty envelope to you, the cost of the post stamp should exceed the value of your house, so it should complete the offer to purchase as a cash transaction then, I assume...

Depending on what they want...rumour has it... between N$50 000 to N$ 90 000........ it;s a gamble, but the one positive thing to consider, this town will always be in a Game Reserve, once the mine goes, the conservation boys will move in....there is already a permanent nature conservation chap here....

Seems fair.  About 5 years ago Iscor sold a lot of the houses here in Kathu to the employers - prices ranged from about R70 000 to R90 000.  Now none of those houses are priced under R600 000.  Some of the houses have been "upgraded" a little and just at the end of last year one house was sold for R1,2 milion. 

Market's going crazy still with all the expansions and new developments here.

I agree with Barbara on this one................what a great deal, I wouldn't mind buying a house on 7th or 1st avenue (that way I'd always find my way home...)
