Hi Mike

Just to let you know I will be getting a new addition to the family soon. Waiting for the litter to be born. This time round I shopped on the net and eventually got the name of a good GSD breeder at Grehenheim kennels at Kameeldrift just outside of Pretoria. The stud dog that I fancy's name is Fabius, a beaut. His hips are classified A+, so that plus the fact that his offspring must have a placid nature are the most important points. As soon as I get the pup, which will most probably be around May, I will post some pics on the site. I really hope you get a "new best friend" soon. It is incredible the emptiness that stays behind.

Charmain

PS The GSD pups cost around R3 000, I dont care, even if they cost R20 000, I want one!!

I was never keen on GSD but my neighbour had one and he really was a fantastic dog. He sounded so vicious but when you were inside, he was so lovable. Make sure you get one from a good breeder that knows his dogs personalities. Can't wait to see the pictures of the puppy. Mike I can also enquire about a Weimaraner puppy for you if you are interested. I can keep the puppy  for you untill you come to Bloem to watch the Cheetahs and you can take her home with you.

I have a GSD in my opinion the only dog to have. They very good with their own families,Zak is wonderful with Morgan and I believe it's the way you treat and bring your dog up as to how he behaves. (Not locked up in the back garden).Anyway I'm sure there are many stories to be told about these dogs, some not so good.So this is just my opion on the matter.I've always had a GSD in the house "stinky poo" but then I chose to have them and they should be part of the family.

Mike

If ever you come to Pretoria, let me know and if you are still looking for a GSD pup I will take you to the breeder where we are getting our pup. I spoke to her again today and we will be visiting the breeder around the middle of April when hubby is home from Iraq for his month's break. I know that I will be feeling horrible, standing there infront of the litter and just taking one and not the whole bloody lot!!! I must admit, if I had the money I would love to live on a plot and just look after any animal that has no home. Tell Michele she must get you another best friend.

Diane

I fully agree with you, a GSD is a wonderful family dog, it wants to feel part of the family and will do anything to protect its people. I would rather live with a 100 dogs than with human beings.

Hi Mike - yip we had a crazy one in 2nd ave that scared the life out of me.  She calmed down after her first set of pups.
The another one when we moved to 16th ave,  and a deaf bull terrier.  Then a rotweiler cross after that.
But this is the first time that I've got a dog, I've either been living in a flat or working to much.  But now that Frank my husband is at home all the time now ( due to unemploment) we decided it would be a good time.  Didn't think it was right in the past to have a dog when everyone was at work.   My two boys are 1 and 4 - so just at the wright age - I hope.

Michael Alexander

Hope this dog ain't as crazy.... and enjoy it!

well said diana,no such thing as a bad dog,bad owners YES,dogs are more intelligent than we give credit for.why is it that when a family dog dies ,we all miss them so much, they are a very important part of our daily lives.in om i was given a dog by my parents,he was a  heinz 57,called him sandy, cos he was the colour of the dunes.from the word go,he hated all things with wheels, seen a grand many of misshaps with ovambos and others passing our house at e23/9th ave[near the ovambo toilets and the park]sandy in chase trying to bite the tyres, given the chance,i think he would chase parked cars,ha ha
