@ Patricia - that stadium was definitely bigger; sure at any event we had to fight our way for seats - I'm sure half of S.Africa used to come and cheer us on -  there was that many people there..............do you think maybe they cut half the stadium away? Mike; was that stadium cut in half???

Thats the cricket Field, which has always been that size, and still is today, Athletics was held there prior to 1978 as there was nowhere lese to hold it, after that it was held at the Odasa track to the west of town.... The cricket field , I believe is once again used for athletics but on a much smaller scale than ever before...Off course cross country running has always been from here..... yesterday afternoon there was a herd of 30 plus gemsboks grazing on it!

Yup, that's where we used to hold our athletics meetings. I left for boarding school in 1980, so never really knew the Odasa track.
